On April 13, we were blessed to experience a very special moment for our community: a meeting with Bishop Fredrik Hansen, during which we had the opportunity to share the journey that Emmaus is undertaking in Norway.
From the very beginning, we were welcomed with warmth and a true pastoral spirit. We presented the mission of the Emmaus retreats, centered on a personal encounter with Christ, conversion of heart, and renewal of faith. With great joy, the Bishop expressed his support and gave his blessing to this mission, recognizing the spiritual value these retreats can bring to the faithful within the Diocese of Oslo.
This support is not only a confirmation of the path we are following, but also a sending forth. In the life of the Church, receiving the blessing of the shepherd is also a call to serve with humility, fidelity, and dedication.
During the meeting, the Bishop also shared his intention to support us by assigning a priest from the diocese to accompany the Emmaus Norway community. This spiritual guidance will be essential during the retreats as we continue to grow in communion with the Church, discern with wisdom, and keep Christ at the center of all we do.
For all of us, this moment has been a true gift from God. It encourages us to move forward with greater confidence, knowing that we walk in communion with the Church and under the guidance of our shepherds.
Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we continue our journey, recognizing the Lord in the breaking of the bread and in His living Word.
In Christ,
Emmaus Norway Team
